Tristan Thoma Speaks at Bitcoin Amsterdam 2022

 

Tristan Thoma, AlphaPoint’s Director of Product, Government & Payments, took the stage at this year’s Bitcoin Amsterdam,  ‘s first conference outside the US, to discuss global Bitcoin adoption to Europe’s growing bitcoin community. Tristan led the panel on ‘Sovereign Countries Adopting Bitcoin’, featuring Steve Tangoa from the Central African Republic and Hector Enrique Celarie Landaverde, Deputy Ambassador of El Salvador to the Netherlands, both Delegates of the first 2 countries to adopt Bitcoin. Moderated by Stephan Livera from Swan Bitcoin, the panel discussed the pathway to Sovereign Countries integrating bitcoin and cryptocurrency within their national financial systems.

Tristan has led the rollout of El Salvador’s Chivo wallet, the first National cryptocurrency wallet, since its launch on September 2021. With the announcement of the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, making Bitcoin legal tender, AlphaPoint has had the privilege to partner with the El Salvadoran government and assist the Central American country in rebuilding its financial infrastructure. The AlphaPoint team continues driving efforts to assist the next country with their bitcoin adoption through our capability of scaling and adapting to any countries needs and allow others to live in a world becoming native to digital payments.
