New York, Nov. 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AlphaPoint is pleased to announce that Salil Donde, former Executive Vice President at Nasdaq, has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer and joins the Board of Directors.
Donde joins AlphaPoint with over 25 years experience in FinTech, data analytics, software, insurance, and financial services. Most recently, Donde was Executive Vice President, Global Information Services at Nasdaq, where he led the strategic direction and was responsible for the operating performance of Nasdaq’s highly-profitable and rapidly-growing Information Services business. The Global Information Services business generated $540M in revenues and accounted for 24% of Nasdaq’s 2016 revenue during Donde’s tenure.
“As a Founder of AlphaPoint, I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished in bringing blockchain technology to market,” said Joe Ventura, Founder and CTO of AlphaPoint. “As we move into the company’s next phase, now is the perfect time for someone with Salil’s depth of experience to join the executive team. He will be invaluable to our continued growth and commitment to building world-class products for our customers, leveraging blockchain and other advanced technologies.”
“The next wave of business capital formation and societal wealth creation is going to come from the digitization of illiquid assets. Much like shares of a company allow participation in the ownership of a business by the masses, digitization will place massive amounts of illiquid assets in the global economy and democratize access to these assets,” said Salil Donde, CEO of AlphaPoint. “AlphaPoint is positioned to lead this value creation with market-leading blockchain technology that enables our customers to securely digitize real-world assets, launch new markets, and manage the full lifecycles of those assets.”
Prior to his role at Nasdaq, Donde was CEO of Lewtan Technologies Inc., where he developed and executed a new strategy to broaden Lewtan’s client base, increase revenues, and consolidate product platforms. Salil oversaw Lewtan’s growth and eventual acquisition by Moody’s Analytics in 2014.
Before joining Lewtan, he served as CEO of Marshall & Swift/Boeckh (MSB, a MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. company), where he was responsible for expanding the strategic footprint and scope of the overall business. Prior to that, Donde served as President of Fiserv Life and Financial Software and Solutions, overseeing approximately 1,000 personnel.
